Job Overview

The Data Science Mentor will provide strategic training and mentorship to Eduroids' students on a part-time basis, focusing on equipping them with industry-relevant data science skills. This role involves delivering interactive sessions, developing comprehensive course materials, and offering personalised guidance to prepare students for real-world challenges in data science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training Delivery:
    Conduct weekend sessions focusing on core data science concepts, tools, and techniques, including machine learning, data modelling, and statistical analysis.
  • Curriculum Development:
    Develop and regularly update course content to reflect the latest advancements in data science and align with industry requirements.
  • Hands-On Learning:
    Lead participants through practical exercises, real-world projects, and case studies to build their expertise in data science workflows.
  • Mentorship:
    Provide one-on-one guidance, address queries, and support students in mastering complex concepts and techniques.
  • Industry Alignment:
    Ensure that training sessions are tailored to match industry trends and emphasize practical applications of data science methodologies.
  • Assessment and Feedback:
    Evaluate student performance through assessments, offer constructive feedback, and recommend areas for growth and improvement.
  • Knowledge Transfer:
    Share industry insights and examples to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications.

    Track and evaluate participant growth, ensuring they demonstrate competency in data science concepts and techniques.
  • Industry Relevance:
    Maintain a curriculum that aligns with industry demands, emerging technologies, and data science best practices.

    Achieve high satisfaction and engagement ratings from participants for the quality of instruction and mentorship.
  • Project Completion:
    Ensure students complete hands-on projects showcasing their ability to solve complex data problems.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in Data Science or related fields.
    • Hands-on experience with Fortune 500 companies is preferred.
    • Proven expertise in machine learning, data modelling, and statistical analysis.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.
    • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
    • Advanced knowledge of data visualization platforms like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib/Seaborn.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data tools like Spark and Hadoop.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and teaching skills.
    • Ability to simplify and explain complex concepts to learners of varying expertise.
